LYNX Scan FAQ

Hidden cameras, GPS trackers, everyday use and guarantees: answers to your questions, including the limits to understand before and after buying.

Range & limitations

The advertised 10 metres are not a guaranteed protection radius.

The 10 m figure is the advertised range in the information supplied for this product, for both signal detection and optical inspection. We do not have an independent LYNX Scan test that guarantees this distance in your accommodation or car.

RF range depends on transmitter power and frequency, sensitivity, walls, metal and interference. For optical inspection, lens size and visibility, lighting and viewing angle matter; it cannot see through obstructions.

Do not rely on a scan from the doorway. Inspect each room and gradually approach accessible areas. No fixed detection radius or reliable minimum distance can be promised from the available specifications alone.

Optical mode cannot see through obstructions: part of the lens must be illuminated and visible. A camera behind a covering, mirror or inaccessible opening may not produce a visible reflection.

RF signals may pass through some materials, but walls, metal and bodywork can weaken or block them. An alert can also originate in another room. The device cannot see behind a surface or conclusively identify a concealed object. Inspect accessible areas without dismantling anything.
